President Trump is about to host a roundtable Thursday night with members of the Fraternal Order of Police — the nation’s largest group of regulation enforcement officers.
The occasion comes amid turmoil between Trump and former White Home special government employee Elon Musk. The tech billionaire not too long ago departed the administration, the place he served as a key adviser to the Department of Government Efficiency‘s (DOGE) efforts to chop down on authorities spending and overhaul the federal workforce.
In latest days, Musk has been a vocal critic of Home Republicans’ “massive, stunning” spending package deal filled with Trump’s legislative priorities — which he known as “pork-filled” and a “disgusting abomination.” His feedback towards the GOP megabill have caused a rift between him and the president.
The roundtable is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. EDT.
