The Senate has eliminated a controversial provision from its megabill that may have offered off tons of of 1000’s of acres of public lands.
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) who was main the push on the measure, introduced late Saturday that the measure could be stripped from the invoice.
“Due to the strict constraints of the finances reconciliation course of, I used to be unable to safe clear, enforceable safeguards to ensure that these lands could be offered solely to American households – to not China, to not Blackrock and to not any international pursuits,” Lee said in a post on X.
“For that cause, I’ve determined to withdraw the federal land gross sales provision from the invoice.”
