Boston, Atlanta and Brooklyn are finalizing a three-team commerce that sends Kristaps Porzingis and a second-round choose to the Hawks, Terance Mann and Atlanta’s No. 22 choose to the Nets, and Georges Niang and a second-rounder to the Celtics, sources instructed ESPN’s Shams Charania on Tuesday evening.
Boston has been inventive this week, and Tuesday’s commerce of Porzingis now places the Celtics below the second apron. On Monday, the Celtics dealt Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers for Anfernee Simons and two second-round draft picks, sources instructed Charania. All instructed, the trades will save Boston a projected $180 million in tax penalties.
Porzingis, 29, averaged 19.5 and 6.8 rebounds final season, serving to the Celtics to a 61-21 common season. Boston was eradicated within the second spherical by the New York Knicks, considered one of Porzingis’ former groups.
Niang, 32, averaged 9.9 factors and three.4 rebounds for the Hawks final season.
