Appearing Buffalo Mayor Christopher Scanlon has misplaced the Democratic nomination for a full time period as mayor, Choice Desk HQ projected Tuesday night time.
Scanlon misplaced in a multi-candidate subject to state Sen. Sean Ryan, who secured the endorsements of the Erie County Democratic Celebration and the Working Households Celebration. Ryan went after Scanlon over his dealing with of metropolis funds and the finances, accusing him of “rubber stamping” dangerous budgets.
Scanlon grew to become the mayor in October after his predecessor, Byron Brown, stepped down for an additional job. He had been the architect of Brown’s profitable write-in marketing campaign in 2021 after shedding the Democratic nomination to a left-wing challenger.
A rematch between these two candidates appears doable as Scanlon already filed to run as an unbiased within the common election.
