Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-Pa.) took a swing at fellow Pennsylvanian Sen. John Fetterman (D) over feedback he made because the Senate was on its approach to passing President Trump’s “massive, lovely invoice,” wherein he stated he had “missed” a seashore journey.
“I’ll do no matter it takes, look ahead to 48 straight hours, 72 straight hours, do no matter it takes to dam this invoice from turning into legislation,” Boyle informed The Bulwark’s Sam Stein in an interview that came out Tuesday.
“And that must be the angle, frankly, of each Democratic member of the Home and Senate. If you’re right here, you are rattling fortunate, and also you’re privileged to be right here. You must need to be right here. When you do not need to be right here, depart,” he added.
Fetterman made it fairly clear Monday morning that he was not feeling enthusiastic about going by a marathon collection of votes on the “massive, lovely invoice,” saying that it was costing him beach time, as the bill was more likely to cross anyway.
“Oh my God, I simply need to go residence. I’ve already … I’ve missed our whole journey to the seashore,” Fetterman stated to reporters.
Senate Republicans handed Trump’s “massive, lovely invoice” early Tuesday afternoon, making it a step nearer to crossing the president’s desk. The invoice now makes its approach to the Home, the place questions come up about whether or not the decrease chamber can meet a self-imposed Republican July 4 deadline for passing it.
“Nearly all of our Nice Republicans in the US Senate have handed our ‘ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL.’ It’s now not a ‘Home Invoice’ or a ‘Senate Invoice’. It’s everybody’s Invoice,” Trump said in a Truth Social post Tuesday.
