Home Minority Chief Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) took to the ground Thursday morning to offer his “magic minute” ground speech opposing President Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” and delaying a ultimate vote on the huge spending and tax bundle.
Jeffries has vowed to “take my candy time” with the remarks, that are nearing 5 hours. The record for longest speech on the Home ground is at the moment held by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) at 8 hours and 32 minutes.
