President Trump on Friday requested why the Democrats — after they managed the Senate and White Home — didn’t launch the recordsdata linked to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, which have dominated the headlines in latest days.

“If there was a ‘smoking gun’ on Epstein, why didn’t the Dems, who managed the ‘recordsdata’ for 4 years, and had [former Attorney General Merrick] Garland and [ex-prosecutor Maureen] Comey in cost, use it,” Trump wrote on Reality Social.

He added, “BECAUSE THEY HAD NOTHING!!!”

His remark got here hours after the president directed Lawyer Normal Pam Bondi to launch related grand jury testimony in Epstein’s case. The directive, which has garnered mixed reactions, follows pressure from a few of Trump’s supporters and Democrats alike for the White Home to reveal extra details about its probe of the case.

The president’s directive to Bondi got here simply hours after The Wall Avenue Journal released a report detailing an alleged letter the president wrote to Epstein for the financier’s fiftieth birthday in 2003. In response, Trump hammered the Journal, saying he would sue the news outlet and denied that he wrote the letter.
