Compressive optic neuropathy from a tumor or mass often causes gradual, painless, progressive lack of imaginative and prescient. It often impacts one eye and usually impacts central imaginative and prescient, aside from tumors within the pituitary gland, which may compress the optic chiasm (the place the optic nerves cross within the mind). If this occurs, there’s lack of peripheral imaginative and prescient in each eyes.
