The Division of Homeland Safety (DHS) sharply criticized Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) for comparing immigration enforcement officers underneath President Trump to the key police power of Nazi Germany in a commencement speech over the weekend.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin mentioned likening the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to the Gestapo is “sickening” in a press release Tuesday.
“Governor Walz’s feedback evaluating ICE brokers to the Gestapo is sickening,” McLaughlin mentioned. “This kind of rhetoric and demonization of ICE officers has led to our officers dealing with a 413% enhance in assaults.”
