A federal choose ordered the Trump administration on Thursday to reinstate greater than 1,300 U.S. Division of Training workers.

The U.S. Division of Training announced a reduction in force on March 11 that may have gutted the company’s employees by a half.

Two days later, 21 states — together with Michigan, Nevada and New York — filed a lawsuit in opposition to the Trump administration for its employees cuts on the Training Division.

Within the injunction on Thursday, the choose identified that the employees cuts led to the closure of seven out of 12 places of work tasked with the enforcement of civil rights, which protects college students from discrimation on the idea of race, intercourse and incapacity.

Former President Jimmy Carter established the current-day U.S. Division of Training in 1979. Since then, the company has confronted different existential threats, with former President Ronald Reagan calling for its end and President Donald Trump, throughout his first time period, attempting to merge it with the Labor Department.
