… Days After Commencement

DeAngelo Miles, a highschool soccer standout and workforce captain, was fatally shot in Chicago this weekend … simply days after commencement.
The Chicago Police Division says it acquired a name concerning an individual shot on the 11900 block of S. Wallace on Sunday round 3 AM … and when officers arrived, a witness said they’d positioned a teen within the alley after listening to gunshots.
“The witness relocated to the place the sufferer was and found the sufferer unresponsive on the bottom with a gunshot wound to the pinnacle,” the CPD spokesperson instructed us.
“He was pronounced on scene. There isn’t any one in custody, and Space Two Detectives are investigating.”
The sufferer was recognized as Miles, a student-athlete and captain of the soccer workforce.
His household reportedly stated he was at an after-prom get together with pals on the time of the tragedy … and police believed it might have been a theft gone improper.
Miles simply graduated from the Hansberry School Prep faculty on Thursday … and Principal Kashawndra Wilson stated he wished to affix the Navy.
“Our hearts are heavy as we grieve his passing,” the varsity stated in an announcement. “We lengthen our deepest sympathies and supply our ideas and prayers to his household, pals, and all these affected by this tragic loss”.
Principal Wilson stated the varsity could have a memorial and balloon launch in his honor.
