Forward of their reunion tour slated for this fall, Minus The Bear will reissue their sophomore album, 2005’s Menos el Oso, to commemorate the album’s twentieth anniversary. “We toured a lot for Menos el Oso — all these songs and riffs are caught in my muscle reminiscence like core childhood reminiscences,” says guitarist Dave Knudson. “The fingers and ft instinctively know the place to faucet and stomp at simply the best time to make the notes and melodies leap out of my guitar.
“We have been attempting to push the envelope again in 2005 on this one,” Kudson continues, “incorporating glitchy guitar samples, hip-hop breakbeats and extra digital components to the sound we had established on [2002 debut] Extremely Refined Pirates. Proud to say that 20 years later it nonetheless sounds recent and I’m grateful folks preserve coming again to it as considered one of their favorites!”
