The group of practically 200 Activision Blizzard builders behind the Overwatch franchise has unionized. The CWA says that over 2,600 employees at Microsoft-owned gaming studios have now joined its ranks, together with a union fashioned by 600 quality assurance workers employed at Activision in March 2024. These strings of unionization efforts observe a labor neutrality settlement that was signed between the CWA and Microsoft in 2022 that made it simpler for staffers at subsidiaries like Activision Blizzard to arrange.
